The Journey Day 32: God is Unlimited in His Ability to Reach You
When Kirk Franklin started changing the gospel game, I still went to the club. I loved to dance, so the dance floor was where I could always be found. One night, the DJ mixed the song “Stomp” into play. Many people took that opportunity to sit down, but I stayed and danced. The more I danced to Stomp, the more those words kicked in. For a moment, I began to take inventory of my life and relationship with God. In the short span of a song, God used that to invoke a deeper response from me. In another instance, God used Michael Jackson’s song “Can You Feel It?” to confirm the changes that came in my life.
Recently, when I was particularly frustrated at a few heavy situations in my life, God used a portion of the hook to a love song by Trey Songz. The portion goes, “I only want what’s best for you, it’s not what’s good for me, it’s not about what I want, but it’s all about what you need.” The interesting part was I changed the radio station and this portion played across two radio stations back to back. I remember looking up and saying, “I understand God. Thank you.” God uses the foolish things to conform the wise.
