Singleness is not a disease. Everyone may not get married and some people may not even desire to do so.

We are all on the journey to being a whole person and to truly understand our individual identity.

The Bible tells us to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling. This means we are responsible for our own journey and will account for our own actions, married or single.

A lot of the calamities we see in marriages and relationships result from broken people coming together thinking marriage or togetherness is the cure-all. Understanding our identity is crucial if we are going to be successful in life and relationships.

It is imperative we understand who we are with respect to our goals, our standards, and our belief systems as individuals first.

While these things may evolve over time, understanding ourselves has a foundation benefit to all of the relationships in our lives and avoids a lifetime of issues.

Reflective Question: What steps will you take to get on the journey to understand your identity and wholeness?

Reflective Scriptures: 1 Thessalonians 5:22–23
