I have learned joy is a choice. A few years ago, a powerful woman of God declared a spirit of joy over me. God used her in my life to breakthrough my deep sadness. As I meditated over the word, I heard the Lord say we have to choose joy. Often our situations and things in our life will drag us down if we let it. However, the kingdom of God suffereth violence and the violence takes it by force. We cannot let negative emotions and circumstances overtake us.

We have to demand and stand for a better way. Choose joy over sadness. It works.

Our lives are not perfect, but we chose how to respond. I chose to not let my circumstances overrun my joy. This does not mean sadness does not come, but we should not stay there.

We fall down, but we get back up.

Reflective Question: What will you choose?

Reflective Scripture: Psalm 37:4
