Happy Juneteenth!

A quote from Dr. Coretta Scott King has been resonating with me for awhile: “Struggle is a never-ending process. Freedom is never really won, you earn it and win it in every generation.”

It is important to understand the truth of the past and not the whitewashed version of it. It is my hope and prayer that the truth continues to be revealed. The effects of slavery, Jim Crow, and systemic racism are woven in the fabric of this Country. Acknowledging that, learning the truth, and repairing the damage is the path to freedom in this generation.

I have personally chosen to celebrate by taking the time off to rest in honor of those who have went before me.

Resting was likely one of their wildest dreams. Be well. Let us all do our part to get everyone free in this generation. Seek out resources to assist you in learning. Patronize black owned businesses and services. 💙
