Every year, I traditionally post facts about our history. This year, the focus was who we were before colonizers arrived as well as what we are currently achieving. This history cannot be limited to a month, but the way our educational system is setup, we shoulder the burden to educate until change comes. Enjoy the 28 day journey.

Queen Candace was an Ethiopian Queen who ruled the Kingdom of Kush.

Legend says that her real name was Amanirenas and that she was a fierce warrior.

She lost her eye in battle and continued to fight against Rome as well as other nation that came against Kush.

Side note: The name Candace was given by the Europeans to the Queens of Ethiopia. The audacity.
