A Fantastic Voyage Part IV: Be Open to New Things and Community
Humans are creatures of habit and comfort. We like our routines, our plans, and the comforts that we have come to know and love. If the current COVID pandemic taught humanity anything since its inception, the lessons of flexibility and change should have been at the top of the list.
One of the adages that I always keep in mind is: Change is constant. There is a quote that reminds us that change is constant, but growth is optional. We can either see change as an opportunity or a drag.
In our ever-changing world, I recommend staying open to new things and experiences. Even small, incremental experiences can make a difference. During the pandemic, I started watching a new genre on TV- Anime. This genre has been so awesome! I have watched several shows and now I have an app on my phone to keep track of the ones that I have seen.
My top three anime series thus far: Hero Academia, Full Metal Alchemist, and Demon Slayer. I think I am going to start Vinland today.
The best benefit is connecting with my young adults about the shows, which makes room for other conversations…
